I have spent a good bit of time the last three days working on a new tabbed search form that will go up on our website in the near future. It is based on code from the University at Buffalo and SUNY Brockport. Here is a screen shot of the search box:

This search box uses a set of CSS files and javascripts called dltabbed. They work very well and are relatively easy to modify. I have gotten it to work in IE7, Google Chrome, and FireFox 3.0.6. I got some assistance with tech support at Gale. They provided me with code for a search form that does not use Iframes. Iframes are considered a great security risk and should not be used.
I hope to see this new search form in production soon after it gets dissected at one of our staff meetings.
