Join Dr. Du Toit as she describes how South African companies are using CI to improve their competitiveness.

The third in our series of CI Division educational webinar programs, State (and State-of-the-Art) of CI and KM in Emerging Markets: BRICS, focuses on South Africa. Adeline du Toit, extraordinary professor at the University of Pretoria will provide an overview of Competitive Intelligence in South Africa. Because of the country’s unique history, diversity, geography and political landscape, Competitive Intelligence is a contemporary issue. South Africa as a net exporter of strategic minerals and the ‘gateway’ to Africa has an internal environment ideally suited to the use of Competitive Intelligence by companies to gain the competitive edge in a developing domestic economy and a challenging external environment.  CI is one of the fastest growing domains and could enhance the competitiveness of South African companies in the global economy.

Learning objectives:

  1. Understanding the current state of competitive intelligence in South Africa
  2. Understanding the challenges faced by CI practitioners in South Africa

  3. Learn how CI professionals can nurture CI capacity in the industry.
