I am posting this story because it reminds me of one of my favorite science fiction novels, Rainbows End by Vernor Vinge.  The novel uses elements of augmented reality which the story from MIT is really talking about.  Vinge’s novel also takes place in the library at a university in San Diego where a new method of book digitization is taking place.
